Dual Boot & Offline Installer

The installer now supports dual‑boot and full offline install. Hold while clicking Continue with Install pearOS selected in the installer to enable these modes.

IMPORTANT: When using the offline installer, do not select BTRFS for the root filesystem – the system will not boot. Leave the default ext4 selection instead.

Core apps
Apps

New built‑in apps

A new set of core apps arrives in this release: Calculator, To‑Do, Contacts, Notes and Calendar, so you can stay organised using native pearOS tools.

pearOS Notch
Desktop

pearOS Notch & visual refinements

The desktop gains the new pearOS Notch and a wave of visual fixes: improved LiquidGel rules, more consistent rounded corners and adjusted window controls.

Graphics

Improved Wayland & drivers

Wayland support is improved, and new NVIDIA drivers plus QEMU guest utils bring a smoother experience on both real hardware and virtual machines.

Window controls
UX

New window behavior

The close button now hides apps instead of quitting them completely, matching the familiar “bitten fruit” behaviour. Hover states on the close / minimize / maximize buttons make their status much clearer.

Polish

Launcher & visual fixes

We fixed the Launcher dark icon, corrected several window border issues and tuned LiquidGel behaviour for a more coherent look.

Piri & downloads
Services

Piri & more reliable downloads

The download quota exceeded issue for Piri has been fixed, so the assistant can be downloaded reliably again.

Known Issues

What to expect in this release

Some Wi‑Fi cards may still not work correctly, the automatic theme is not yet implemented, and the pearOS Notch may not run perfectly smoothly yet (a fix is expected in 26.4). For other bugs, please use the Issues tab in the repository.
